I do apologize for being tired. I only had 1 hour of sleep the night before, and I was way out of it!!

Thanks for the tips and the goodies though, it was top notch! Sorry I had to leave early, I wish I could've stayed longer!

We should do it again sometime

Didn't even know about this. Bummer.

How was the GTG a few weeks ago? Any pictures?

I just bought a A8L, 2001 and selling my E320 Wagon. Will be down to one Mercedes soon. I just did not like any newer lager MBZs.

Well, when is the next GTG?

David

Mike Philips is the MAN!!!! I have never met anyone who loves his job so much. He really does go the extra mile and seems to know everything that can be known about the exterior of a car. We should all contact his boss and tell him to give him a raise!
Although I was impressed with Mike's knowledge and his hospitality, more importantly, I was mightly impressed with the passion that he exudes, and his genuine interest in helping us solve our paint problems.

Meguiars is indeed fortunate to have as an ambassador a person who is as passionate as he is. After this GTG, its Meguiars all the way for my cars...............

This GTG was really an eye opener for me as to the different products that Meguiars have and various techniques to solve the many paint problems. Was also nice meeting other forum members and seeing their well kept cars..............

Thanks Afshin and Paul for putting this together

Robert,

Pretty scary what is going on in SD right now. Here in Temecula a fire started about 4 hours ago and they're already evacuating several areas. I found 1/2" black embers on our deck earlier today which surprised me. Hope the fires go out quick.

On a good note your car looks great, get a car cover on it if you have one but definitely rinse and dry it before doing that.

yeah... it's kinda freaky, my friend had to evacuate his house and he's gonna stay with us untill he gets the all clear (he lives on clairmont mesa). Here's the view from our balcony.

I have a few pics of the car before this all happened, so I'll try to find them and get them up on this thread.

I know its not a Mercedes, but this is my other car before the ash got all over it. The paint looks crazy with the reflection of the smoke-filled sky in it. Too bad I had to take the 18's off due to bald rear tires or that may have been an awesome pic. Now its covered in ash like Roberts car and I just washed mine on Saturday.

The swap is on hold due to some 'financial' issues, but it will happen eventually. If not in November, then December. I've got the m3 in my garage and the 325 is still running strong, so I'm not in a huge hurry. I need to save up some money for parts for the swap to replace and modify. Any of you guys know someone with a lift that I can borrow for a few days to do the swap? I may have to do this myself due to lack of finances. I've already got 4 knowledgeable and dedicated volunteers to help me. I guess I can put the cars on stands and do it that way. Oh well, lots of research is to be done! I may throw the brakes on in a few weeks for fun. Although that means I need to ditch my 15's, since they wont clear the brakes. You 500E guys know all about big brakes! I saw those things, mighty impressive.

All BMW engines are designated by certain alphanumeric codes, which designate the engine family and generation, as well as block size (displacement). Regular production (i.e. non ///M Cars) are referred to as M-series motors, with certain engine families. For example, my car, a 1994 325is came standard with the M50TU B25. This means that the motor is part of the M50 engine family, displacing 2.5 litres, which powered all six cylinder equipped E36 3 Series from 1992-1995, as well as the E34 5 Series (525i only) 1992-1995. TU stands for technical update, which was enacted for all MY 1993 325's/525's. This included, among other things, the introduction of VANOS, a form of hydraulically actuated variable valve timing.

All ///M Series motors are designated with the prefix "S". The S50 B30 was standard equipment for the 1995 E36 M3 US. It features a larger displacement over the m50, higher revving valve train, and among other things, 240 hp. The beauty of BMW construction is that most parts are easily interchangeable, like the engines/transmissions/differentials/etc. As more and more early productions are being destroyed (accidents, auctions, etc), more parts from the early ///M3's are becoming more readily available (and attainable).

250SE-

You must be a BMW expert. Have any knowledge of the 2002tii? I'm looking for one. Email me off board if you do.

Thanks,

Craig

I'm sorry I took so long to reply, but I don't know very much about 2002's. You can always try www.bimmerforums.com and ask someone on there. I'm sure someone will have links to pages or may be able to directly help you. Sorry about that.
