DMITRY,
How do they look installed? They are "coated paper", hmmm...How did you get the needles out the instruments? I am sure they are some more people insterested in your comments.
TIA

Ok I give up. I am not very good at marketing. I made them myself, with a help from my roommate. I can't justify the price of $150 for simple overlays. That's all W124 and W201 gouges are - just a three circles with digits printed out on them. We printed it on a photo matte thick heavy paper. When I put it in they looked perfect. Basically all that changed was the color, design is the exact copy of the original (except for Lorinzer logo). So far every one was pretty skeptical about them (may be the price is to cheap) but I really doubght that the expensive ones are any better.
Nidels came of pretty easy. I did it with curved surgical scissors and popped them off. Before taking them off I freed some of them from the stoppers in order to let them rest in they "natural" position. than made a little diagram in order to avoid calibrating later.
I will make an installation instructions to go with them. So far I got 3 people interested.

Hey Dmitry, nice job! A couple Q's though, How is the clarity/sharpness of the printed numbers/logos etc? Are the overlays smooth like the OE ones or are they textured in any way? I don't have the economy gauge on my left face, any problems? Let us know. The price is cheap enough and it saves me time from making my own. Is that your email on the site, I'd rather deal directly with you. Thanks.

Print is preaty clear ( I will try a huge laser printer at work as well). Paper is smooth. We used a matte photo paper wich is preaty thick and stands up to moisture. As far as changing color or fading.... well time will show. I did think about it, hopefuly the paper we used will not do it.
If any one has better ideas for the materials (I was looking for paperthin plastick ) let me know.
Taking the economy off is not a problem (one guy asked me to rearange everything, RPM, clock, etc), and yes, it is my e-mail there.

DMITRY,
Do you have a picture of the installed faces in your car? How do they look at night?
TIA

They look the same as any other white gouges for W124, unless other manufacturers use some special reflective ink or materials. I dont have a pic. of them in my car but this is what it looks like: http://www.geocities.com/nsx1164/pictures/93ce-driver-800w.jpg
At night they are stil white. My dad said that he would be annoyed by this, but I like it. If you can work in a "Black" light somehow, you will get the "Indiglow" gouges but that is a matter of taste.

Dmitry,

They look good, not my taste for my car, but they do look nice.

If I was going to change my guage faces, I would have my machinist make them for me out of brushed aluminum or something.

To add an extra cool feature I'd have him engrave all the speedo marks etc, which I think would look very cool. then paint them if needed, though that would be quite time consuming.

In anycase, The white faces look nice, the paper may or may not fade or yellow over time, but like you said only time will tell.

How did you go about making it? did you scan the actual original guage faces? or Make them from scratch completely?

Alon
