Just thought I'd post the fact that my '92 500E, replete with PAD performance chip and K&Ns, just passed the CT smog test with flying colors! It's even one of the more stringent tests, and is conducted on a tread mill device with the car running 25MPH. By comparison, the car tested much cleaner this time than it did 2 years ago when it was completely stock!
So, before you endeaver to pop the OE chip back in for your emissions test, go on and give it a try; maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised
