Hey Ortolan, congrats man!

But one quick Q: is the LT10 good for 6 cylinders?!
Thought it was only 4 bangers, but... damn looks good!

Thanks!
It's running the engine already so I assume it's up to the task.
The engine runs one coil per two cylinders, could that have something to do with it?

deff.... 1-2-3 x2= 6 banger!
injection all tricked out... I was looking for the Autronic SM4, or the LT12 from Microtech.
I still didn't figuer out if an aftermarket ECU would eliminate the confort that I so like... (power windows, heated-power seats and A/C...)
Does the factory ECU control any off these?
And by the way, are you able to control (fine tune) ignition timing with the X4?

Congrats man, you've done it!

The old 103 ECU appears to still be running some parts of the car. The guy that did the wiring wasn't there so I wasn't able to find out what component exactly still needs the old computer.
The car has begun the road testing phase and the engine is running hot (104C) so this needs to be sorted before we put the thing on a dyno.
I should hopefully get the car back in two weeks.
I left the audio on this clip (now that there's actually something to hear!):
Buildup part 10

Quick update after speaking with my mechanic on the phone (he is working hard to get the car ready by COB today).
Dyno showed 272rwhp which is 340bhp if my allowance for 20% drivetrain loss is correct. Assuming a regular inertia dyno was used (forgot to ask) this means I'm 60bhp shy of my target. Need to see the dyno chart tonight to find out what's going on.

BJ

Don't get hung up on the dyno numbers.
You didn't do a baseline.

My baseline on a stock M103-12V was 136HP and 145Torque against published 177HP and 188Torque.
This represents a 30% drive train loss.

My final pulls after updating the filter, intake and boost tubing was 206HP and 238Torque.

Pulls were on a Mustang load dyno which reads about 15% lower then an inertia dyno in a 80 - 90 degree F. ambient temp.

Factor the drive train loss and the dyno adjustment and I would be at 346HP @ 5500RPM and 400Torque @ 4200RPM.

If you use the 30% loss you are up to 388HP
What was your torque?

With cooler ambient temps I'm seeing low five seconds to 60MPH.
The engine is smooth, no lag at all and just wants to rev and make power.

Dyno can't give you the cold air charge to the turbos and the intercooler efficiency.

You're probably close to where you want to be...
Should see high four seconds to sixty mph !!!

Not bad for a six cylinder !!!

Merry Christmas

Ed

Still waiting to drive the car and see the dyno chart (car wasn't ready yesterday, rescheduled delivery to this afternoon). The engine is running 14psi of boost so there has to be something amiss.
Unfortunately I have to nurse the engine for at least 1000km to break it in. I don't know if I can fight the temptation to stomp on the loud pedal for that long.
To top that off, it's been raining all day, with more rain forecast for tomorrow (and I ran out of time and money to do the LSD and suspension)!

Thankfully my mechanic Geoff has been very generous with his invoicing. The total build time came out to over 230 hours but he is only billing me for 180.

Of course that's still 60 more hours than I can actually afford to pay for.

@RBYCC
My experience with w124 4sp auto tranny is 15-17% drive train loss
(done several dyno's with the same car on the same dyno)
example: stock E280, factory numbers 193hp, dyno: 169whp

@Ortolan
looking forward to see your dyno sheet, especially the AFR graph
:-)

Reread my post and I noted my loss was based on a load dyno ( Mustang ) not an inertia dyno...

More then likely your pulls were on an inertia dyno such as a DynaJet....

Took the car for a quick drive and got the dyno charts.

A problem has developed with the transmission which prevents me from taking delivery (it's not shifting out of 1st 2/3rds of the time).
For the few times when the box did shift, the power was very impressive.
I was only using part throttle and keeping below 4000rpm but by 3000rpm I was being pinned back in my seat.

I've attached the dyno results. There were two runs made. The better result is with some "cam retard" function duplicated by the Microtech ECU (supposedly the thing that operates between 1500 and 4000rpm on the stock 3.2L M104 engine).

As the engine is still being broken in, the runs were aborted early before peak power was achieved.

Ed - From reading online, it sounds like this might be a load-type dyno, which would explain the lower than expected figures, as you suggested.

I'm travelling interstate for a week but when I get back the transmission gremlin should hopefully be sorted.
