No clue. Don't have an AMG motor for me to get mah grubby paws on.

The MAG58 institute for obsessive-compulsive M104 statistics is always open to donations, however.

Okay thanks for the clarification. Any ideas on a shop that could do this and what it would cost?

it is better to use forged pistons (lightweight pistons are recommended for 7000rpm at 92mm stroke )

stock piston 'dimentions' wil give 3.4, if you want 3.6 it needs a rebore, even if you stay at 3.4 i would expect uprated pistons (forgies) wouldnt be a bad idea?

if your car isnt shiny, you dont know what you are talking about, remember; paint shine = knowledge. In order to be taken seriously, you should spend all your money on paint, (and get a dyno reading).
Dont forget to polish it often

What kind of power increase could you expect on an m104 (cis-e) increased to 3.4 with stock pistons and custom rods?

Also, what would be the downfall of not using forged pistons?

Costs on getting custom rods made?

You'll need to do a lot of work to the block. At 88.5mm the throws hit the side of the cylinders. You'll need to eye-brow them or clearance it somehow. You also need to get 16lbs out of the SDL crank while you're bored.

A set of rods is probably going to be in the 1200dollar ballpark. Just remember you've got a 217.625mm deck height to play with, and a 92.4mm stroke.

Cast pistons are alright if you're not going to turn it that tight. They're more brittle and are less tolerant of detonation than forgies.

Also remember, AMG motors had different intake cams (some say shrick, but I'm not sure I believe that yet), the 3.4 had a ported inlet and exhaust while the 3.6 just had a ported exhaust.

Thanks for all of the info Bob!

It seems like it could be a fun project, just have to find a good machine shop down here in florida to help me with the block issue. Definitely going to port my exhaust and intake though even before I do the bottom end conversion.

I also got the service or workshop manual for the AMG E/CE/TE 3.4 from germany and it is in german it is titeled: introduction written for the customer service (picture attached)

And finally here is where i did run my vin: http://partscatalog.ru/mercedes

Finally went to Lebanon for a couple of weeks and had some work done.

I got the pre-facelifted hood, grill and headlights installed. I also painted the grill in black and got the amber indicators.

Changed the injectors and seals oem ones, changed the fuel pumps oem ones (wanted to go for the bigger ones but didnt see the real benefits). I also changed the fuel filter and the small filter that goes into the fuel distributor.

The alternator had died, so i got it rebuilded for the moment but im looking for a 150A one.

Changed the rotors and pads front and rear. Since i have the calipers, rotors and pads from a C32 amg, i tried to install it but finally didnt. The pads are exactly the same ones found on my car but the calipers and pistons are double the size and the rotors are larger. So the pads only cover around 50%, i found that a bit weird and decided not to install the C32 setup for now. Is that normal? if yes...why the need of the larger vented rotors if the pads only cover a bit of it?

Started refurbishing the evo 2 wheels...still need painting so didnt install it yet

I will attach a few pictures of the car later on.

I tried to mess a bit with the eha and i can tell the car performance is very sensitiv to it. When i adjusted it to less fuel, the car was running like an M103 2.6 and i got an average of 180 km per 20 liters of fuel!

I have a brand new eha on the way...i will install it next time i work on the car

Curious about the pad size.

The larger rotors will take longer to get to the temperature where braking performance is reduced. And because of larger surface area can dissipate the heat a lot better as well. That is really the only reason to go larger rotors. Assuming operating temps are within limits, the real restriction in braking performance is determined by the quality and grip of the tyres.

a while ago I got a set of bosch pilot yellow foglights and i will be installing these on the amg front bumper see how it looks.
The thing is, they got different part number from the regular bosch foglights that fits on the amg gen 1 front bumper. Here is the part number Bosch 1305620436. while the part number i know it fits is 0305406902 (yellow) and 0305406901 (clear). Or the real amg one with part number HWA 2018200156??
I hope they will fit...they look identical..but the light pattern may be different
(the first two pictures are for the yellows i got, and the two last are for oem hwa parts)

Second, the rear sls suspension, on idle, i hear a clunk from time to time coming from the left rear wheel side. Any ideas of what it could be? what are the part number of the accumulators anyways?

what spark plugs should i get?
on the amg plaque, its written Bosch F6DCO, Champion C7CC.
I think they no longer make those.
I am also planning on changing the spark plug wires too, with oem part (if anyone knows the part number it would help with the online shopping)
