'81 380SL Heater Control questions

Hi. I have just taken delivery on a new / ugh, well, - pre-owned - '81 380SL with 133,000 miles on the clock. I love the car so far but never got a correct owners manual. The one supplied was a repro of a later year SL with automatic climate control along with other changed features. I have the 4 sliders (2 red + 2 white) and 2 knobs. I have managed to get the car to heat, defrost and air condition to a degree but would like to know the best settings for each mode. I would also like to decode the paint and interior color but know of no source to find this info. The car has the small euro bumpers, no cruise control and two fog lights close together but I have yet been able to find a switch to light 'em up.

Also - - - I have just bought a set of used '90's SL 16" wheels, am expecting delivery next week, and am wondering if the bolt pattern will line up.
