Thumbs up Yokohama AVS dB S2

Just mounted a new set of these Yokos on my 6.9 which is equipped with the rather rare 15" "bundt cake" alloy wheels. I was torn between the Yokos and the Michelin Pilots but so far I have to give two thumbs up to the dBs. The car goes around corners like it is pursued by demons and those tires are eerily quiet at interstate speeds. So for not a huge outlay at the tire store (compared to the Pilots), I think I got one helluva tire. If anyone is considering these, I say go for it.

I have been through 2 sets of Yoko dB's. On set of the original design, and one set of the S2's. Both sets wore poorly after about 60%. They would feather, then begin to cup. Became very noisy and vibrated. The S2's are supposed to have a modified design to prevent this, but they still did it on my car. I rotated the heck out of them, but did have about 1-1/2 to 2 degrees of negative camber on the back. (The car is slightly lowered.)

Now, I have the adjustable rear camber bushings, and so have only 1 deg of neg camber front and back, and a little extra toe to compensate for the larger tires. I'm a little afraid to buy yet another set of these if this is a design limitation for this tire, but I did like the initial quiet.

I run 225/50/16's.

Anybody else worn through a set or two of these? What was your experience?
