ETS lights won't reset

I have a 2000 ML 430, the ABS, ETS and brake light activate simultaneously when any road slip occurs in the AWD. The owners manual indicates this should reset automatically and almost instantly, however I had to shutdown/restart the vehicle to reset the lights. This has occured a few times over the past months and I had to do the same shutdown routine. Anyone ever experience similar circumstances and have a diagnosis.

ETS light issue

I have a similar problem in my 2000 ML55 AMG.
It will reset only after I shut down and restart the engine.
If you do find a solution, let me know.
I am looking thru WIS info also.
Thanks
