what is it worth??
a friend of mine has a gold 1991 300 SEL 6cy 130K miles, everything works on car including air. Body, and interior is good. a good running car, no rust. I would rate it at a 8 out of 10. Is it worth $3K?? I looked at NADA and KBB...worth a little more. Should I go for it?

mileage? Thats your most important tool in determining value.
200,000 = $2,800-3000 150,000= $3000-3500 125,000 = $3500-4000 100,000 = $4000-4500 75,000 = $6000-6500 50,000 = $7500-8500 25,000 = $10000+ The above is just my observations, and goes for cars that are in very good condition... nearly mint in shape. |

$3000 is a good price if you will live with it as is. If it needs front end work or a valve job or some leather repairs, etc., you'll be doubling your initial outlay for a car you don't really need.
I don't know how you feel about second gear start. I've forgotten most of what I enjoyed about my 91 300SE (not the fantastically cold R12 AC) but I still curse that second gear start. Sixto 95 S420 87 300SDL |
