I got banned last time ( as theVirginiaDude) because the biggoted moderator was FOR segregation ......at taxpayers expense at a school in Florida...and I argued that after 30+ years of screwing white people with affermative action nobody had any right to demand seperate High school proms for the blacks and another for the hispanics...

He got real indignant over that and banned me.

My clear stance....

NO affirmative action, No special treatment based on race or skin color.

NO grants loans or special assistance based on the same.

Everything with equal access for anybody thats a legal US citizen.

I was pretty sure that my hard work would pay off and get at least some type of aid or grant. I just found out that I cannot get any type of money and the only thing my university can do for me is give me a loan that I will not have to pay for until I graduate.

I socialize with everyone and many african-americans brag about how they attend school for free. When I heard that my full attention was drawn to the person speaking. He was bragging about how all he has to do is keep up a C+ (2.5 GPA) and he will be attending school for free. This is not the first time I have heard people talk of things like that.

I am not racist in any way...I am just trying to find out some answers from you guys. What has happened to our education system, why do I have to work twice as hard ? I have yet to attend a college party or anything of that sort since I am either studying or working so "playing around" is out of the question.

The reason why I am so bummed about this is that I just found this out today that no scholarship or grant is available. When I came home I opened a letter from the school congratulating me on my DEANS LIST ACHIEVEMENT for the Spring semester. What a slap in the face...

I guess it's because I'm WHITE

I am in the same exact situation. I don't think that being a minority would help so I would add modifying the government's view that someone is ineligible for aid based on their parent's wealth to the list. Not that it is right for it to be this unfair but you will only come out farther ahead I think.

No matter what, keep you eye on the goal, work hard, dont give up and you will achieve it. AA is not the first, nor last time you will run into unfair obstacles. Fight such injustices, but dont allow them to consume you, or you have lost.
