Funny, possibly the greatest success of socialism has occurred right here in the U S of A: The WW2 GI bill. Paid for itself many times over and sent deserving vets to college. The list of Nobel lauriates who are GI bill alums is significant.

After WW1, the Bonus Army marched on Washington cuzzin' they were near starvation, and good ol' Repub Hoover sent even better Repub Macarthur with troops on horseback to route the sum-*****es. Probably lost him the election of '32.

The next year, the Bonus Army tried it again and Eleanor Roosevelt met with them out in the open in D.C. They still didn't get their bonus, but she promised them help, the CCC was created, and many jobless vets found redemption there.
