As A Native Georgian, I Would Like To Apologise For Jimmy Carter

We are sorry that we elected him governor, thus setting the stage for a 35 year embarrassment for our fair state. He was elected under the premise that his opponent associated with Negroes and it went downhill from there. The sad story of his failures and his contributions to the ruining of America are chronicled here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Carter#Presidency

Please don't let this American tradgedy prevent you from having a positive outlook on our fine state. We made a mistake and we're truly sorry.

Eh. He wasn't ALL bad.

"On October 14, 1978 President Carter signed into law a bill that legalized the homebrewing of beer and wine. "

There is no glamour in that. Just ask anyone from Arkansas.

I worked for the state of Georgia in the '70's. I remember quite well being at work when an announcement came over the radio stating that Jimmy Carter had announced that he was going to run for President. The entire office erupted in laughter.
But Jimmy had the last laugh. The joke was on us.

It's not a criticism. I was only referencing possibilities. Party on

I was a kid when he was president.

All I remember is long gas lines and the fact that he gave the crown of St. Stephen of Hungary back to the Commies after they asked the US to safeguard it.

Carter or no Carter. People brewed their own anyway. Our wine cellar was full of homemade wines dating back to the 1950's. We drank all those and just kept right on a brewin' to replenish the stock.
