How about your town dump or transfer station? I don't know about all of them but I know our town has a big drum to dump recycled oil and fuel into.

NB stadium is a great venue! Lots of stuff to keep the kids occupied between innings and during the game. We've got a partial season package with them so I skim the best games off the top and give the rest to my crew. They buy some turf and field products from us so it's basically a wash. Except for the beer and food...that turn it into a money losing proposition.

Winding down on the preparatory activities for the Zoo-B-Que. Acceptance sinking in - half the stuff on the "to do before the party" list ain't getting done. Got rain, lack of sleep, caring for Ma and Ed, and a whole host of other things to blame, so it's all good.

Dear friends Barb and Louis in from CT, and we've chained Louis to the porch of The Cottage for Ma and Ed, not to be released until the washer and dryer install is complete. Seems he got the plumbing done yesterday, 220VAC install today. Let the record show - good friends rock. Good friends with handyman skills at Level 10+ ROCK THE UNIVERSE. A bunch. And then some.

Darling Wife and Barb are off scavenging eats and who knows what sorts of frivolity for tomorrow's event. Specifically heading out to Gettysburg PA to gather fruit and jams and honey from the amazing Lion Potter dude. And dodging some of the nasty weather that has me indoors at the moment:

Tornado Warning
Severe Thunderstorm Warning
Severe Thunderstorm Watch
Severe Weather Statement
Hazardous Weather Outlook

Got tired of watching the primer run off the newly created benches on the porch in cute little mini-rivers towards the house (for some unknown reason, the porch out back slopes TOWARDS the f'n house) so I are taking a bit of a break. Power tools in the rain seeming like a bad idea and all that.

Head count for the Zoo-B-Que stands at "somewhere between 30 and 60" depending on how many of the maybe's show up. Even have some of MY family coming in - which is spectacular, considering the total lack of connection for way to many years.

Mistress and Mgburg, my heartfelt sympathy for your respective loses. And an extra heaping dose of happy birthday sentiments as appropriate - ups and downs attempting to balance the universe it would seem at times.

Swamp, congratulations on the svelte new you. Bikini pictures are required.

Well all, I'm 52 and few hours now...not drunk or whipped or anything...just tired...

Got a call right at noon today...the Encoder for our HD signal in La Crosse decided to blow its brains out of wack...the unit required 3 hard Memory-Battery Reboots and 3 related power-cycles to clear out the garbage and allow remote access to finish troubleshooting and then allow reprogramming...that's the short version...

The "main" channel (The ".1" of Digital TV now) was on the air in "green" (think blue screen of death w/MS SW) and all you had was the audio of the program in the backround. Riveting TV to say the least...

Anyways, once that "little" issue got straightened out (1 hour and 22 minutes) the reports had to go out...then I had to head back to the transmitter site to finish up "supervising" the removal of our old tower.

Dinner (My B-day) consisted of a double-order of fried perch and a few ice-cold rootbeers...DOG! I luv Perch (done right!).

Hey everyone...I do appreciate the sentiments concerning my recently-passed MIL and when I find out exactly when we'll be heading out for the services, I'll let you folks know here...

Now that the reports that had been pending are pending no more...I'm going to try to start Friday all over again in a few hours...

Maybe, I'll drown a few worms...fishing is for people who just can't hack the fun of work and forget that cleaning 'em is work, too!

Morning all...

Well, the weekend's been put to bed already...I already know what's happening, how it's happening and when it will happen...

Mary is being emtombed (Finally!) Monday at noon...so I'll be on the road Sunday around 9AM...so for the rest of today and tomorrow, it's "Road-trip" prep-time.

I've got to get the suit to the cleaners, and back, before COB on Saturday, get the motel set up and make sure the fluids and rubber meet traveling standards...then make sure the weather conditions are covered every which-way it can go...then double the occupancy rate and away we head out...just the X and me...the kid can't go because the little cuss got his keister in a sling and is currently a guest at the La Crosse County Graybar Motel 'til Tuesday...

Idiot.

Absolutely perfect weather today-77*, sunny, light breeze, low humidity. What better way to spend the day than at work? Lot's of grass and wetlands quotations this week so there might be hope for lots of fall seeding.

We're taking the kids to the drive-movie tonight. No idea what's playing but we're out of the house and there's something to keep them occupied.

Loading up the family on Thursday and headed to Greenville, SC for a couple days to visit some friends who just moved there and then off to Myrtle Beach for some sand, sun and fun. 10 days off with the family. That's a good thing, right?

This weekend will be spent with some preliminary packing and getting the van ready to go. I replaced the brake light/cruise switch (which makes the brake lights work-or not- and prevents you from shifting out of park when it fails) which is a $9.40 part but a $85.00 job at the dealer, and picked up a new center roller for the power sliding passenger side door. That's a $90 part, but a $640+ dealer bill for them to do the job . I found a great write up on how to replace it on a Odyssey forum so I'll tackle that tomorrow after the oil and filter change. The poster said it was a 1.5 hr. job not knowing what he was doing, I'm alotting 2 days.

I think we're at Myrtle Beach until Wed/Thu and would love to try to catch up with anyone that might be down there or on the way back. Keep in mind there will also be 4 crabby kids and a crabby wife at that point but if I could work it in I'd like to. We're trying to coordinate with some other folks from a Down syndrome message board to meet up, too.

Oh, and I'm down to 243. Although the last time I weighed 245 I don't remember this tire being here!
