I hear ya. Running is losing it's appeal.

I rarely ran in the summer while living in DC. It was always so damn humid. Back then an 8 mile run was par for the course, but throw in high humidity, I was good for a few lazy miles.

Well, I barely made it. In this kind of heat, 3 miles is my limit. The biggest PITA is the sweat getting in my eyes. It burned so bad I had to take off my shirt to continuously wipe my face off. Maybe I'm using to much product in hair. :P

The Swede 09-02-2007 02:10 PM

I'm too self conscoious to run with my shirt off. Even when I was in really good shape, no way.

Tao, tap, tap. :P

Yeah, I have never run with my shirt off before, but I live in a really quiet area, and I generally don't run into anybody.

I had no business running bare chested FWIW. :o

I always end up with my shirt off. I need it to mop the sweat out of my face.

Do you hear a tapping noise behind you? :D:P

Dee8go 09-02-2007 05:20 PM

Yes, that's why I keep running!

The Swede 09-02-2007 05:33 PM

Lol!

Tomorrow I'm off to California for a week. Woohoo!

The seeming "plotlessness" of the Seinfeld episodes may turn you off at first, but give the show a try. The characterization -- and the dialogue, as you see above -- is priceless.

Running, now?

Yeah, I do it. Summer lasts for 8 months here in The Swamp. If I took off from exercising as long as the outside temp was over 80 (with the vicious humidity), I'd look like the whale George rescued in the Seinfeld episode. This morning at 5 am the heat index was 88 degrees -- and in early August it hit 100 at least twice. Gah.

I've been a runner for more than 30 years, and right now all I can manage is about 20 minutes running, with about 4 1-minute walk breaks. Once the temps go down some (say, about November, if I'm lucky), I hope to be doing about 30.

This weekend? More of the usual: washing and detailing the car, getting my ears lowered and beard trimmed, stocking up at the food warehouse, maybe a nice dinner out. Such a dull life. (If anybody says "Get a life," I say in return, "Where's the catalog to order the life from? Can anybody steer me to a website? Anybody?")

My sinuses are all in a dander so I will be parking my bahind on the sofa and watching Cable....after I go to the "Sand Blasting Parlor for my beautification session.

Just remember "It Costs Alot To Look This Cheap."

After cleaning up my e-mail for work, I'm gonna head over to Costco to buy supplies for the twins 4th birthday party.

For me, I'm going to buy a package of filet mignon and a fresh bottle of Maker's Mark. :D

Mowing the yard, taking the kid to bass guitar lessons and of course...
