I am just back from seeing her safely away in college.

She is happily set up with all the essential goodies of college life: laptop, iPod, scanner, printer, frig, microwave, cellphone, money in her ATM, new credit card...

Now, having written her first tuition check I think that the pain of seeing her off has now been replaced by the pain I now feel right about where my pocketbook is....

Not even a bottle of 151 will ease that pain.

Just keep this in mind...

Her dad is a prosectuor.

Her uncle is a cop.

And between the two of us we own a huge empty lot.

We wouldn't mind burying another body there.

Still want to know what college she attends?

OMG- Is that a belt- driven turn table with a sapphire needle I spy in the corner along with a speed graphlex (sp) or Rolicord twin lense camera in the corner too? Your like the kid next door with the best toys.....Nice Escher touch with the photo of yourself in the convex mirror....yeah I noticed.
Hey! I have a belt drive turntable. And a Hasselblad. Not vintage phones or wall paper, though.

I used to live in a 100+ year old house (with full Victorian ginger bread trim, no less) in Fort Smith, Arkansas. I spent the whole time I ived there repairing and restoring it. I was happy the day I finally sold it. New houses have enough things to keep repaired.

Yes, but there are SOME things which it is impossible to comply with.

We all know leafy greens have vitamin K which works against coumadin, conversely alcohol enhances the blood thinning effect.

Certainly I get tested, but nowhere near when they say I should,I've evolved a very crude system,If my gums bleed to much after brushing or if my a-hole bleeds I'll back off on the coumadin for a day or 2,crude but effective.

Since I can't exist without salads I always have a drink or 2 with lunch or dinner to balance it out, living on borrowed time anyway so why not enjoy?

I once owned a 1910 Crafstman Bungalow. It was a real "pretty" house. But like you said, it takes a lot of work to keep it looking nice--sort of like an old Benz.

You haven't lived until have attempted to fix a damaged lath and plaster wall.

I started leveling the floors in my old house in Fort Smith and was doing fine until I started getting impatient and began turning the jacks a little more than I should have each time. The result was that the walls began to crack and I ended up tearing out the lath and plaster and replaced that with drywall.

The good part was than when I saw how bad the plumbing and wiring looked, I replaced all of that while the walls were open. Try living in a house while all of that is going on! With a baby, no less!

Nope, no more old houses for Dee8go.

I would come out from the East End to see your place. I have a 1889 farm house. I love old stuff. When is the BBQ?

Do you know if the crown moulding is plaster? How tall are the ceilings? The wall paper is beautiful.

Go past Love Lane in Mattituck and I am about 1/4 mile on the north side of the road. There are two identical Victorian Farmhouses. Ours is the one to the East. It has vinyl right now from the previous owner, and the best feature is the barn out back.
