Getting mentally prepared for my son's wedding on Saturday in Louisville. Yes, this is the name-changing spawn, who is getting married . . . It should be quite an occassion with ex-wives, outlaws (former in-laws), name-changing children, and a lot of people I've never met before.
It should be quite a party, though. My son's wealthy step father is footing the bill and his wife spares no expense when there are people to impress!

Bummer about the tennis elbow. Just got back from the pediatricians office, my 11 yo daughter is very sad that she's going to miss her last AAU basketball tourney this weekend due to "poor patellar tracking." According to the doc, her knee cap is sliding out and not returning completely which could lead to a ligament tear if she kept playing. So she's off it for 4-6 weeks and starting PT next week then she'll have to wear a brace. Knee problems with female athletes is a huge issue so I guess I shouldn't be surprised but I guess I was just enjoying my blissful ignorance to this point. She was really looking forward to this last set of games.
She'll be back in the game soon enough, these days with the advances in medicine it's just a bus stop....

I was happy when my appointment for this afternoon called to reschedule for next week. Maybe it'll be cooler then.

Happily, I finally sold my Lincoln last night. Woohoo!

Uggghhhh! I survived again! Spent the morning in beautiful downtown Casa Grande. It just ain't right when you are dripping with sweat at 6:00 AM. Yeah, it isn't a "dry heat" this time of year. 87 degrees at 5:00 AM and 67% humidity. I smelled like a two week old laundry bin (now there's a bit of pleasure for your olfactory senses!) by the time I got back to the relatively cooler clime of Tucson.

Am at home now, deciding whether to melt, spontaneously combust or take a shower just to sit and sweat. Decisions, decisions, decisions...

Spent the day cleaning (cleanser/back-flushing w/power-washer) the Heat-Exchangers for our two transmitters and the building's three Air-Conditioner compressors in Colfax...w/more than enough help from 12 persistent horse-flies and 1K little, tiny, flying-in-every-facial-orriface gnats.

Oh yeah...the temperature is about 98° with a heat-index of 120° ... the dew point up here is around 81°-83°.

If it wasn't for the chemicals in the cleaning solution/foam, I'd be spraying myself and forgetting about the HEs and ACs.

I'm hitting the car (AC has been on for about 10 minutes now...Oooooooooo!) and getting the hell (appropriate term for today) outta' Dodge...

Later...boiled aligators!

I'm off this week since I had to take a week off. It's been mostly a work around the house in the morning and play in the afternoon vacation. Finally go the Wrangler presentable enough to put a for sale sign on it. . Spent this morning edging the sidewalk and working some porous ceramic and polymer crystals in a few containers and in the flower bed next to the house to (hopefully) remedy a seriously hydrophobic soil situation. Then spent the afternoon at the beach with the family. Not a bad day at all!

Just point the windscreen into the sun and line the floor boards with aluminum foil.

Alone at home again (Darling Wife and Chickie in CT for a funeral). Well, as alone as one can get with 3 dogs and 11 cats and 1 father-in-law type in the house.

Zoo fed and drugged (3 on meds at this point), me stuffed on salad topped with oh so very dang yummy home made dressing, trying to decide if pending 110 heat index days translate into enough energy/ignore pinched nerve in neck mojo to warrant hauling the big window AC unit up from the basement.

Knowing sleep should come soon and deeply - major executive level kick arse meetings all day long tomorrow - but not sure how to get there from here.

Sigh.

Sigh, what's happened to our entrepreneurship? Used to be a time when a guy who owned his own print shop NEVER had a problem with a cash shortage. I believe the saying was, "making money hand over fist".

Dang those U.S. Treasury department agents!

Speaking of fisting...

We're hosting a fine agent from the IRS (actually he is a very nice young man, probably the good cop) who's come to audit our FY 2009 books. Our accounting firm is exceptionally conservative and by the book (in fact the founding partner served on numerous oversight boards after the Arthur Anderson fiasco-too bad our new governor didn't consult with him about GAAP), and performs an audit every year for us for our bank covenants, so there's not really any concern about them finding anything out of the ordinary. It's still a PITA.

Other than that...
