It's Wednesday again already! I've been having a great time driving the SEC around. Also, teaching my daughter to drive the 300TD. She actually wants to learn how to work on it. God help her if I'm to be the teacher. Well, we can muddle through it together. It's a nice father/daughter activity.

You'll never "trial run" a cat, they "trial run" you" - listen to ANY cat owner during your visit to the cat's home..."Morris just LOVES you..." or "Morris is finicky...he'll only come around CERTAIN people..." It's the CAT that runs that household, not the humans...

And as for the taking care part? Cats "take care of you"...

You're just along for the ride...

But hey, at least you know that going into this situation...

Going out for the first splash of the year on the sailboat I mentioned here almost two years ago. Going to sail it all weekend too, then yard it and send it your way for the summer, Mistress. See ya'll later

Nice! That's a helluva lot better way to spend the day than I've got! I spent the morning at our State of the Town breakfast listening to all of our elected officials bemoaning the fact that there is absolutely no area of the budget that can be cut, including curbside leaf pickup.

But the sun is out, the sky is clear and little guy #2 has a Challenger League baseball game tonight so it's not all bad.

Enjoy the water! I haven't even uncovered my dinghy yet.

I intend to have finished installing my new kitchen sink by lunchtime today. I thought I'd be done by bedtime last night. I was finished, but the job wasn't done by 10:00 last night. Home Depot is the poorest excuse for a hardware store I've ever seen!

I've got to find a REAL hardware store close to my house and start patronizing it from now on. There just aren't many of them left.

Murphy's Law on Home Improvement requires you to double the numerical time estimate and increase the duration to the next period of time. (Ex. a 1 hour job will take 2 days, a 1/2 day job will take 1 week, etc.)

Our local True Value Hardware store is a testament to enduring that initial hit when a Lowe's or HD comes to town. He said the first year sucked but after that 1st year they've managed to F everything up to the point where customers come to him first. He's gotten so much business back plus more that he's comfortable enough to send customers to HD if for some reason he doesn't have an item they need or can't wait until their next delivery to special order it. There is a lot of gloom and doom when a big box comes to town but if the local store can't withstand that first hit they may not have been long for the business world anyway. The only thing they really offer is longer hours.

I suspect there will be mass consumption of scotch after Dee8go finishes said kitchen. I on the other hand found an impulse counter to read codes for my car but its 420.00 and that doesn't include the connectors.

OOF! Is that something that could be rented or borrowed? Maybe one of the guys will come to the aid of a damsel in distress?

AFA Dee goes, I'm sure there's a stready stream of potty words accompanying that scotch!

Finished chasing the cows.
Off to pick up the kiddos from school here in about 30 minutes.
Then the oldest (11) and I will continue with trailer training her new horse until mum calls us in for dinner. She (daughter) gets her last “Ferris Bueller” day tomorrow so we’re heading for the arena.

In short…not much.

This just in, Dee8go had a successful sink, faucet install everything connected properly or so he thought when the time came for the first test run of the dishwasher. Everyone standing around waiting in anticipation he turns the dishwasher on and everything is fine and dandy. The cat is standing by with his pool noodle and raft fully inflated just in case. No leaks, nothing. Dee8go standing proudly in the middle of his kitchen prancing around with a glass of Macallans in one hand, Diamond Crown Maximus cigar in th other when all of a sudden there is a bolt of lightening and Dee8go turns into a puff of smoke- god heard every word and Dee8go went straight to hell.
