I dropped my daughters off at the airport this morning to spend a week in Texas. The house is nearly empty (except for a rather noisy cat with too much energy and a fairly quiet Chinchilla). I just realized how much I'm going to miss them once they're both gone. T-minus two years and counting.

I'll get over it . . . .

Awaiting the arrival of July 4th. I have 2 kegs, 96 bottles of beer, 5 handles of alcohol, tons of soda, food, tons of fireworks, an empty house, and invited just about everyone I can think of.

I had that once, but I rubbed some salve on them and the burning sensation went away . . . .

Packing for a solo Aviat Husky X-country flight to Idaho.
I'll leave Friday morning.
Talk about having some alone time to think.

I guess I'll plan to avoid night flight over any towns. I'd sure hate to experience a flack barrage from a fireworks show.

Y'all have a safe and wonderful weekend.

Shelby

An overnight trip from Southern California to New York? That sounds brutal, Paul.

Smile Things look great!!!

1. I got word from the shop near the SF airport that the AMG headers are now jet-hot ceramic coated inside and out, and ready to install!!!

I expect another 20-25 hp DIRECT to the rear wheels when this is done, and it will involve some expensive parts fabricating.

They sent me teaser pic's I have not been able to upload for you to look at yet. But they look great!!

I will have them put in after July 15 and will have to stay down there, but they will give me a loaner 420SEL, PLUS this woman from a dating advice site who is from Silicon Valley (San Jose) wants to meet me for lunch or dinner while I am there.

It should be installed in time for the Diesel Drive on the 19th of July, that weekend, and I am finalizing a date from an internet dating advice site to go with me on that, to help navigate and read maps from San Jose to San Francisco

2. If THAT wasn't nice enough, I got a phone call from Palm Springs, another woman, who is a realtor and drives a 2008 ML 350 will be coming up to San Francisco to meet me the weekend of the 12th of July, and as I corresponded with her awhile, it looks like it will be fun.

Hint: Online dating sites are a waste of time and money

Online dating advice sites are El Dorado - a gold mine. And they are free!!

That is why I am not even around here so much these days....can you blame me?

I guess I'm used to it. With a few exceptions, most of my trips are 1 -2 night stays.

I have meetings in the morning through the afternoon. A normal person would stay the night, but I'd rather get home at midnight than stay another night in a hotel.

Are those "Tri Ys'" Jim? Are they the ones off your SEC or some new ones you bought?

Bah. You haven't really pushed it until you go to mainland China for a two day visit. Between cars, trains, planes, and ferries, we're talking 24-26 hours each way. Add 2-6 hours if you can't get direct flights.

Try that once, and you'll recognize the insanity. Do it 5 times in 8 weeks, and you realize that both you and your employer are certifiable.
