I'm hoping the various unpleasant smells, lack of heat as well as the furry and segmented cohabitants will keep them at bay.

You're really going to have to associate with a better class of friends, Swamp!

First time to Christmas shop prior to one week before Christmas, ever. Parents were in town last week/weekend and mom & wife went around and dropped hints with the purveyors and I go pick it up

Did get my mom an original gift though: one of those digital picture frames that holds 1000 pics of the grandkids.

Those are pretty cool. We got a 10" (i think) frame for my Grandmother last xmas. Its got about 350 pictures on it right now. She put it on a timer, so its on during the day, and off at night.

Sounds pretty cool. Wifes boom box? Is she helping plan the man cave?

That's what I got: 10". The price difference b/t a 5 inch and 8.5 was pretty significant, but 8.5 to 10" was small.

At my local Best Buy, the 3.5" and 10" have a $20 difference.

We must be talking about two different things: there was a $200 difference in the ones I was looking at, but the 3.5 only held 200 pics and the 10 holds 1000.

Mines got a memory card slot... Storage depends on your memory card.

Edit: Mine was also purchased on Black Friday....

Just with the kicking audio system. It's one of those humongous stereo/cassette boomboxes with the "equalizer" and a coat hanger antenna. It's perfect for my Def Leppard, Guns N Roses, Anthrax, Kiss and Kentucky Headhunters tapes. (And the only thing I have that plays tapes anymore)

That's a great idea for my mom. At 62 she has no interest whatsoever in doing the computer/internet thing. My wife sends all the pics out to friends and family but the only way she ever sees them is if my father has his laptop or if she comes here to see them on his work computer.

I just got out of a ballet recital after talking with an old friend here and was immediately informed that the Tgiving plans I canceled two weeks ago are now back on. I can imagine four tickets into Asheville, NC purchased tonight for travel the day before Thanksgiving will run me the equivalent of any car (with maybe a couple of exceptions) on the diesel discussion
