Well, in the past, we grow up in the same village, town, etc, etc. Today, I might live in CA and my son and his wife might live in NY. His children might live in TX and FL, etc, etc. When it comes to money, all bonds are meaningless. If they don't depend on you, what is their motivation to you?

I show my age with the belief that blood ties should mean SOMETHING. I guess the world has passed me by.

You can always count on the forum...we are here 24-7 and don't care what if wear bumuda shorts with knee socks and sandals.

You're lucky they made it that far. My extended family can't even do group email to each other without the family fluff flying.

Yes, however, the part you need to remember is that this is a "we" thing. IOW, you must want it as much as I do. Just like dating a girl. Otherwise it turns into a stalking thing where "I know she will want me. She just doesn't know it yet."

Yep,,, that's the point I am now with some members of the family. I have tried, but there always seems to be some kind of issue with one or more of my siblings. Age does bring changes, and we seem to have less and less in common as the years pass. Meanwhile, my brother and I, who had no relationship because of the 7 years difference in our ages, are getting closer as time passes. We don't really have to work at it either.

Sometimes the girl you want just basically falls into your lap. Other times you have to kidnap her, lock her in your basement till she comes to her senses and sees that she needs to love you.

My wife was the gal who fell into my lap,,, God,,, 41 years and I love her more than when we married.
