If the gov seized 50% less taxes from me since I started paying taxes I could have sent my kids to any college in the USA.

.

Being forced to pay for a war you do not agree with
while you cannot afford to put your kids thru college.

Just does not feel like something that should be happening in
what is called a free country.

I cannot say I have all the answers.
But that does not mean I don't know when things are messed up.

Invest 300% and we won't even scratch the surface of that goal. Remember, if your trading partner tanks, you have issues too. Until everybody we depend on is independent, we are still tied in some way, shape or form

How about me being forced to pay for children I didn't bring into the world while I had to struggle to put the wife thru school? Come on. I didn't have sex with all those women so why should I pay for it?

"CEOs don't have to perform." That's a blanket statement.

To support your blanket statement you offer a single case. Given time and inclination, you could probably find a dozen or so cases in the past 8-10 years of CEO screw-ups, intentional and otherwise. You could probably find a dozen or so boards of directors that were at least or more screwed-up.

How many companies would you say there are in the USA?

Golly gee, didn't you understand that is EXACTLY the point the rest of us made with our counter-examples? In a representative democracy we can't always get what we want. Don't like it? Run for office or buy a ticket to a better place. Or whine about it.

The war is such a lame excuse for having no money. First of all, before the war, there were poor folk. Before the war, people had money problems. Ending the war will not solve money problems. You solve your own money problems. More money doesn't solve money problems.

Politicians are free to use their own money for whatever charitable cause they wish to support. The problem ( as in the Davey Crockett piece posted by Bot), is when they use public monies for such expenses.
The hypocrisy of it is how the libs, who spend my tax money like it was water, do not, as a class, give any money of their own. You could look it up--IIRC the biggest public spenders are also the biggest private misers.

Yes, there are exceptions...

Don't forget Dennis Kozlowski... one of the tallest Hogs at the trough. Now doing time.(WorldCom)

Ken Lay, Jeff Skilling, Andy Fastow all worked hard at Enron....at deceiving shareholders.

Or, golly gee. Maybe talk about it in a public forum.

And try to make a change one person at a time.

Ease off the whining comments.
Your position is the same as mine, we dont allways get what we want.
Are you just whining the opposite side of the opinion.

I'm not whining, m'man. I think that the Iraq war was the right thing to do and now seems to have gotten onto the right track. In the long run I think it will pay dividends just as defeat of Germany, Italy & Japan has paid us dividends for decades. It's more than worth the price and I am ready to pay.

wow.

im simply going to say, it boils down to this; spend the money in the US on americans, or spend the money in iraq, on non americans.

one is certainly far more worthwhile and endeavour than the other, if were are talking about increasing our national deficit. that american who doesnt get the money might rob you one day. it might have educated them. kept them in an afterschool program. taken care of an ailing citizen. created jobs through incentives. reduced my damn taxes. housed a veteran. etc.
