Well, I could lose a few pounds, but my blood pressure is normal and I've been dull in the mind well before my first cheeseburger.

I find your post highly interesting, Paul. How do you get the quotations broken up like that?

I invite challenges to my position.
If I didn't, I sure would not post them here.

While my position may seem self centered to you.
I can assure you it is not.
I would much rather have the right thing happen, then what I want to happen.
I do my best to try and figure out what the right thing is.
But sometimes I am still wrong.

Can I be think I am entitled to everything I earned without being a spoiled brat? I think so.

There are things going on that every one of us has gripes about. What of them? What makes your gripe so special?

In your opinion, that is. To someone else, it might be.

Whose definition right do we have to accept? Yours?

He was the first to tell me to grow up.
Go ask him.

And I think one of the hallmarks of being a grown up is knowing that it is not all aobut you.

No, I do not want people to blindly accept what I think is right.
None of us truly know what is right or wrong.
We all just try our best.
Some try less than others.

By that definition, most, if not all of us are not grown up. You see, it IS about ourselves. We do this to avoid that. That is what we have been doing since the beginning of time. We do some good to others for payback in one form or another. Maybe it is financial and maybe it is property or maybe it is just a favor to be returned in the future. Whatever it is, we do something basically for ourselves. The only thing that is variable is the coin in which you are paid for your deeds. Other than that, we do it for OURSELVES. That is why I say it IS about me. Because I am doing something for myself.

Just because you cannot see another way does not mean it is not there.

Some people are kind and compassionate because they want to be.
But being self centered keeps you from seeing that.
You think everyone has alterer motives.
No wonder you are so frightened and angry.

Trust me, there is not a terrorist hiding in your bushes.
You are probably the most dangerous thing you have to worry about.
And we are not even at war with the people that did the terrorist acts here in the US.
