I agree... I love old Packards (1933-35 senior cars are my favorites) I got to see three Pierce Arrows at the car show in Reinbeck, Ny and they make Packards look like Model T's! Talk about big and classy Woo Doggy!

I checked them out one day a while back, he even had a 57 Eldo Brougham.
When my mom and dad were actively restoring the 24 they took all the steel body parts to a guy and had them chemically stripped. well the guy told my dad the hood was steel so in the drink it went... well it never came back, it was aluminum and the chemicals dissolved it. so the owner of the shop bought my dad a new one. well before the owner came through with a hood my dad located one in Sparks NV so we drove other there. the guy selling it was the owner of a classic car storage and restoration place. he had these large garages with 20 cars in each that were climate controlled. He had FRDs Limo in there. my dad called the shop owner to work out a deal on the hood, and the shop owner had located another hood. even with coming home empty handed seeing that place was awesome.

At least that's my rationalization.
As far as a retro People Carrier, the anyone can afford. my first car comes to mind. (here is another project shelved by my parents divorce)

I would have done the same thing! American cars haven't been worth their salt since 1974

It is a 1951 GMC

Cool Suburban! I really don't have a garage, or yard, big enough for all of the vehicles I'd like to own someday. My virtual barn is chock full, though.

Hell, I've even got a soft spot for those old Ford Cabovers (C-800?).

Any of you who have an interest in professional cars (hearses, ambulances, flower cars, limousines) should check out the Professional Car Society forum...lots of discussion about pro-cars. I work at a funeral home, and have been bugging the owner to offer a retro funeral procession, with a 59-63 lead car, hearse, flower car and limo, to use on actual funerals. Ghost Busters drives me nuts, they killed several perfectly nice Miller-Meteor coaches, and who knows how many other cars got cannibalized when other people made copies.

Cool link! I'm definitely going to check that out.

I think that's a great idea! I had similar thoughts, along with a fleet of dually diesel limos (GMC, Ford and Dodge) for the redneck (or swamp yankee ) wedding circuits along with a couple diesel dually hearses. Fortunately I don't have the funds to feed my sick ideas. Although the retro idea is a great one. I'd like to go out that way.
