Anyone have good news for a change?
Good news is a bit scarce around here these days...... Ma in law got confirmed small cell lung cancer diagnosis today. At least stage three, may be stage four (if re-check of "non-diagnostic findings" of cells found in lung cavity fluids turn out to be badness). House closing in MD got delayed because Deutsche Bank forgot to sign a power of attorney for the attorney they've had signing deeds on their behalf for the past two years (gonna be a LOT of unhappy people when they go to sell their houses only to find zero nada zilch in the way of paper trails on their deeds). Got basically zero motivation to load the remaining 8,000 pounds of personal belongings that have to go in the trailer sitting in our driveway, since we don't know when we're gonna close, how long it is gonna take for the left arm I f'd up trying to load our upright piano onto said trailer to quit hurting, when we can move, when we can get the three cars sitting in our realtor's townhouse parking lot outta her hair, when Ma needs us in MD to help her re-home after her hospital stay, etc, etc, etc).

All that said, through these trials I have been reminded deeply and profoundly of the love of friends, the willingness of virtual strangers to step up and help out, the value of true and unconditional love, and the importance of family (in whatever form they may take). Job is sound (though new - three months ago I was in the OP's shoes), personal health is stable (pissy arm notwithstanding), and I have the most amazing wife who recognizes my feeble attempts to be there for her and knows when I need to lean on her.

Guess my only point is that jobs come and go. You'll find another, and no matter how much life sucks between now and then, don't forget to pause now and again and see how much goodness and support you have at your disposal.
