Depends on the company. Time-Warner is at the GF's house in the city and they are pathetically horrible. To get them to come out within 10 days is a miracle..........and they don't provide any time slot. Thankfully, their POS modem hasn't failed yet.

That's what they are! Perfect description. They have a monopoly on our area....it shouldn't be allowed!

We'll probably never see FIOS.....AT&T is the local phone company....they're working on slooowly rolling out their U-verse system.....don't know if I'd even want that though, its expensive and I don't watch much TV. If I want more speed I can pay my DSL provider like an extra $6-8 a month and they will uncap my connection....so I'd get about 8.8/1.8 Mbit....not bad! (for $56 a month) Right now its $49.95....
