Well I have personally driven that car and it's true what they say:


There is nothing like a V12 Mercedes.


Nothing!!! The rush of torque is endless, it pulls *really* hard - and it stops real fast, too!!


This particular one is in real good shape, a no rust California car. It's a beautiful example of one, in my opinion. It cost over $120,000 when new, I think.


Come out here to get it, and we'll help you out, go to dinner, help you find a place to stay. You can even go to San Francisco again too, again before you go back. You have buddies out here like cmac and me, and Justin that think a lot of you.


An xc trip home would give you a lifetime of memories, a chance to really know the car well too, AND a handful of speeding tickets if you aren't careful

let me introduce you to my twin companions: Hydrocodone and Flexiril. I promise that if you spend much time in that car you will be intimate with them.

Bot's right. You may want to make the trip with a 25-year-old masseuse riding shotgun. You'll just need one pharmacompanion at that point, and it's blue...

Hate to inform you Bot, but the SL600 with ADS has such a nice ride. Not overly firm, where it will break your back, but no overly soft that you float along. Its just perfect.


Bot, when was the last time you drove a 129?

Those seats are as comfortable as the ones in my Lincoln or my SEC. I've driven cross country in a friggin' Pinto*, fer god's sake! An SL would be a dream.

If I drove across country in a Pinto nowadays you'd have git me out with a paint scraper, a fire hose and vicodin.

You busted me: I have never ridden in one of those cute little M-B's. My whole opinion comes from driving an MGBGT from Austin to Natchitoches in my teen years. I popped outta that car like a watermelon seed wishing I could keep driving -- slick. I think my body remembers every bump on the road and is still getting revenge.
