Being on the machine is alright, being on the ground sucks.

Built about a dozen houses so far, hoping to start on the one for me in a year or two. Never had to cut into pavement, as all the places my partner and I built were on unimproved roads. Also, no city water, no city sewer.

Nice truck! To bad it dosnt clack! LOL
IF you wanted to give it some rake or level the front up, these are torsion bar trucks and they have adjustable torsion keys so its easy on the front! Just soak with some blaster or kroil and jack the frontend off the ground and the world is your oyster!

If ya have any issues, feel free to ask me, im familure with these things. Least the HD's but alot of the same stuff.

Skippy~ As for perception: Drive what you like and can afford. Those who don't like it can supply vacuum to one of your components. LOL

If you need parts, I have some!

I might do a white spray on bedliner, I'll have to see what the cost is.
My only issue with the plastic liners is stuff sliding around. We Rhino-Lined our last 3 and it's held up well. The good thing is the bags/cases/drums/buckets stay more or less where you put them. The bad thing is you can't just slide them in anymore.

I was thinking of doing that on the Suburban... Just have not gotten around to it yet

Do I see a "Mercedes and Chevy Truck Owner's" club being formed here?

I got the 8ft bed because I need all of it.
If you're going to work it like that, make sure that all of the fluids are fresh and filled to the proper level, including the differential oil.

How is the Ex working out for you? I got an 01 with the dreaded Diode from Ford which made it necessary for a new trans.

Ha, yeah I wouldn't even know where to begin with well and septic.

When we want water we tap into the RWA's pipes, and everything in Milford is city sewer, well mostly.

Oh yeah, I'll be dumping the oil when I get it. I'll either do the trans and rear end myself, or get the shop at my dads job to do it. I hate doing that stuff underneath.

Its probably due for a coolant flush too, since GM uses the 5 year stuff, and its coming up on 5.

I'll be going all Mobil 1 like on the Mercedes.

Thanks, I actualy like trucks that sit lower, I love my uncles 1500 SS and if they still didn't cost $20k for good ones I would have gotten one of those.

With 2wd I have no illusions of going any further off road than I did with the Mercedes, so I don't want to jack it up to much and make it drive worse on the pavement.

Any reason I can't go Mobil 1 on the whole driveline? Since it has 50k miles on it I figure I'll do the ATF and diff oil right away. I was planning on using Mobil 1 75w90 in the rear, and Mobil 1 ATF in the gearbox, than 5w30 Mobil 1 in the engine. Since its going to be worked I want to go synthetic.

Go all M1. I did on the Suburban and I have 150K with no problems...
The engine should have come with M1 5w30 from the factory.

Ya, All M1 is fine but check to see if it has a limited slip diff, if so, you need to add a limited slip diff additive. Might give the shocks a look too, factory equip is Bilstiens, since its gonna be your workin truck. Tune-ups arent too bad on that v-6. Just give it an all around good check-up!

Oh and a Benz+GM truck owners club would be fine by me!...LUVMBDiesels !

Here it is, anyone want the cap?

Who knows about the 4.3 V6's? Do they have intake manifold coolant leaks like other GM V6's? Their is a small leak I can see but I'm not sure if its dripping down from the hose or the joint. I'll figure it out when I start driving it.

We yanked the manifold and resealed it becaue of a coolant leak on the 3.4 in my moms old car.

No need for a cap, but I could bid it up for you

All GM's develop intake leaks. Thanks deathcool!!
The replacement gaskets are supposedly immune to the dex.
