Is there an upset W123 in your driveway that had its wheels taken? Or was that another set....?

I don't think Ol' Turbo's 120 HP will miss it much.

He'll get freshly refinished bundts and new tires. It would be nice to find 15" bundts, but that's about as hard as finding Pentas.

How many $$$$s did you drop on it?

I saw a 450SEL down the street from me today...the guy wants $14K - it has 117K on the meter...I'll see if I can get some pics of it and post...but I think that $14K is wayyyyyyy toooooo much!

I'll have to get a dropcloth to see what's underneath...in Wis., you can't be so cavalier about those locations...

Those are vintage AMG wheels, called Pentas from the 1980's. They came from a wrecked euro 500SEC, but I had them on my 300D for the past 6 months.

I won't be doing any more of those burnouts like the video without power braking now.

Regarding the pics, the w116 just looks so much better in Euro/1973 American bumper trim.

Seriously, you guys are acting like the diff is going to explode the next time I drive it. I seriously doubt that unless I do burnouts on a daily basis for a year am I going to have to think about it. I'm not going to rack up miles on a low mileage car, and the gas mileage makes it completely impractical for daily use as well.
The limited slip portion of it consists of discs which are pressed together to provide resistance to one wheel slipping by itself (if its the same design as my LS diff was). They are a fairly weak solution to the LSD idea and wear out. Them wearing out would not IMHO affect the life of the diff much if any....but if they're worn you could only lay one strip of rubber at a time.
