The right of the people to peaceably assemble is one thing. However...the right to camp out indefinitely in a public place is something else. PUBLIC by definition means we all have a right to it, and when they commandeer the area for their own use over an extended period, it prevents others from sharing/enjoying it. The fact that their actions in Oakland have closed streets and bart stations is an even more extreme example; I'd humbly submit that their right to protest and peaceably assemble is coming to an end when it impedes the rights of others to peaceably go about their own business. That does NOT mean I agree with the police using heavy-handed tactics to clear the area -- unless they are attacked while simply doing their jobs (like the ones in SF last week, who showed remarkable restraint after the attacks). But it does mean there is a sea of gray in what many here seem to think are black and white issues. The article today about the huge bonuses to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac execs does nothing to pull the wind from the sails of the Occupy movement, either. |

Oh, so it's not a threat; you just wish that others would harm me. Just out of curiosity, how long have you been a member of Mensa?

by the way, your anti-che thing is about 40 (?) years too late. i don't know any progressive people who still believe in the cuban experiment. also your mention of bill ayers is a dead giveaway that you listen to rush, and/or watch billo (he of the sexual harassment settlement), and or read "newsbusters". bill ayers is about as irrelevant as che. (get some new material, please! and no, saul alinsky doesn't qualify. ![]()
