Right lets judge an entire movement by the actions of a few anarchists. You so smart

Did you even bother to read the article?
Quote:
The deposit is just temporary, according to the group’s minutes.

“It takes time to transfer funds to a credit union. We need to help people in jail now,” the minutes of the Monday meeting read.

The $20,000, donated from the national Occupy Wall Street movement, will be used to bail demonstrators out of jail or pay injured protesters’ medical expenses.

Occupy Oakland is filing papers with the California secretary of state to become an unincorporated association, able to open a bank account of its own in a credit union.

But that takes as long as two weeks, the group’s lawyer said at the meeting. In the meantime, Occupy Oakland will put the money in a trust fund administered by the lawyer and others.

“This is time sensitive! People are in jail and need help!” the minutes read.

Ninety-seven percent of the Occupy campers voted to approve the proposal.

Consider their other Bay Area choices . . . Bank of America . . . Chase . . . Citi . . .

Well Fargo Hopes It's True

Takes time to deposit with a credit union, but depositing with a local bank that doesn't require proof of affiliation is pretty close to instantaneous. Not all small local banks are legally considered credit unions. (Though people may refer to them as such.)

A FEW anarchists???

Next time you see the occupying fleabaggers on TV, count the number of T-shirts with the anarchist A symbol.

Or, who knows, maybe the A stands for A-hole and not for anarchist???

You might want to save your breath in trying to make this very logical point on this forum. I tried pointing out the same thing a few weeks ago and got shouted down for it.

Oakland seems to be the consistent black eye of the movement. I don't understand why that particular crowd is so willing to jump to violence and give the whole thing a bad name. In all of the cities having OWS movements at the moment the only ones you really hear about are NYC (because of size) and Oakland (because of the violence).

Cops in CA are also much more violent and ill-trained than NYPD (as bad as our rep is). BART shootings in NorCal, consistant LAPD abuses -- seems like the state has an angry pig problem, at least in the more urban areas.

There are a few "interesting people" on here Larry.
Best not let common sense & rational thought get in their way.
Just remember, you cant rationalize irrational behavior & Chris & yourself regularly comment on such on OD.
Unfortunately they dont have straight jackets for the internet.
Maybe some are let go home on the week ends.
As far as the demonstrators are concerned I am sure "rent a crowd" aka "the anarchists" are there in significant numbers. We are seeing the same thing in Australia. I believe the police busting up the demonstrators in Melbourne Australia was the first of such in the world. After all they wanted them gone for the queens visit. Seeing their tents & other junk being loaded into rubbish trucks put a smile on many faces.
The lack of conscription & work for the dole means we have many with way to much time on their hands. Unfortunately, a few trouble makers can use these idle individuals in a very anti social way.

I'm sure that many on here would consider you one of those "interesting people" if they didn't read your posts.

Who says the government themselves didn't "hire" the anarchists to have an excuse to break up the protests before the queen came? Got to protect the delicate eyes of that inbred old Britisher prune, after all.

So by not reading some ones posts & not knowing some one, there are members who form opinions about others? A classic example of irrational behavior.
I guess they must form such views telepathically. ~ there I go trying to rationalize as well !!

Such a suggestion fits the irrational category well.
Dont you have an occupy demonstration to go to?

Not really a supporter, but I'm also not a supporter of state-sponsored violence. Especially to "protect" the delicate sensibilities of a pathetic little figurehead. What's next? Potemkin villages?

Why didn't Australia go republic and cut ties with the UK when they had the chance?
