I support the constitution as well.

The right of the people to peaceably assemble is one thing.

However...the right to camp out indefinitely in a public place is something else. PUBLIC by definition means we all have a right to it, and when they commandeer the area for their own use over an extended period, it prevents others from sharing/enjoying it. The fact that their actions in Oakland have closed streets and bart stations is an even more extreme example; I'd humbly submit that their right to protest and peaceably assemble is coming to an end when it impedes the rights of others to peaceably go about their own business.

That does NOT mean I agree with the police using heavy-handed tactics to clear the area -- unless they are attacked while simply doing their jobs (like the ones in SF last week, who showed remarkable restraint after the attacks).

But it does mean there is a sea of gray in what many here seem to think are black and white issues.

The article today about the huge bonuses to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac execs does nothing to pull the wind from the sails of the Occupy movement, either.

Oh, so it's not a threat; you just wish that others would harm me. Just out of curiosity, how long have you been a member of Mensa?

Actually in the last few months most of the BS with cops has been due to the Bart Police not that the Oakland police are without sin. But, does that mean their supposed to stop enforcing the law.

wow, you are really a piece of work. i think i'm going to call the f.b.i., and inform them of your terrorist threat.

additionally, your apparent glee in endorsing waterboarding shows that you, long ago, lost your humanity, and that you enjoy being a bully.

or is there something i missed? do you have a full metal jacket round for me too?

The law should be enforced with compassion and within reason.

we're too busy digesting your regurgitated tea party/fox news propaganda.

by the way, your anti-che thing is about 40 (?) years too late. i don't know any progressive people who still believe in the cuban experiment. also your mention of bill ayers is a dead giveaway that you listen to rush, and/or watch billo (he of the sexual harassment settlement), and or read "newsbusters". bill ayers is about as irrelevant as che. (get some new material, please! and no, saul alinsky doesn't qualify. )

Blocking traffic, maybe, but only if they didn't allow emergency vehicles to get through. Camping - not really. And the protesters didn't call out the cops (hate the term LEO, since "leo" is "lion" and implies bravery on the part of cowards), the city chose to.
What a load of crap answer. People work at the port, and industry which employs thousands was ground to a halt- society lost money- which means individual people lost money. People were hurt. Saying it was chinese goods which deserves a huge tariff is showing your complete lack of understanding of economics.
