Horsepower is BS. its all about torque. Try hauling a 126 up a hill with a 2004 V10 F350 decent horsepower... hauling the car at 35mph. Try this same task with a 1988 Diesel F350, less HP then the V10, yet the truck is climbing the hill at 65mph. It an't magic, its torque, low end torque.

All that said. If you don't own an orchard/ranch/farm or live in the country and need to haul things like wood/dirt/equipment why daily drive a truck like that. I really don't understand the lifted trucks that require HUGE drop hitches just to haul a boat. Seriously bro, sorry about the small......... never mind.

Oh I like torque. Thats why I have diesels and a V8.

I like the sub-2500rpm range. I still think a 5 liter v8 current MB engine is not exactly *low* on either.

Agreed. out of all the cars that passed through my young life thats the one that got away. When I was a young kid my mom drove an FJ40 and my dad drive a 73 Challenger. My parents were COOL!!!! but you know, then they had kids..... I guess I kinda screwed up the whole having cool cars thing. At least my mom told my dad they couldn't sell the Challenger. She told him "some day thats gonna be a classic and your son may want it" LOL yes it do want it. but now the old man says its his baby. even though it sits out in an airplane hanger and never gets driven.
