Thanks BC for bringing this thread to a new low!

Here are some pics of the bowl. The brand name seems to be RYURU.

I called an antiques dealer and asked about this lacquer ware. She said to use VERY mild dish detergent on the inside and warm but not hot water.

You know that some of these pieces are strictly for show or for dry food only, right?

NOT for soup or HOT rice

They look great, don't want to destroy them.

I would presume that the red paint has a good quantity of lead, and would not use the bowl to serve ANY food.
