Romney repeats false claim of Jeep outsourcing to China; Chrysler refutes story

Romney repeats false claim of Jeep outsourcing to China; Chrysler refutes story | Auto news | Detroit Free Press | freep.com

In fact, Chrysler is investing $500 million at its Toledo North Assembly Plant and plans to add 1,105 new workers by the third quarter of 2013 to build an all-new SUV that will replace the Jeep Liberty.

According to CBS News the CEO of Chrysler today said the story told by Romney, that all Jeep production is being shifted out of the USA, is a lie.

These are facts, and this makes Mr. Romney a known lier.

In 1998 Rush Limbaugh said, in speaking of President Bill Clinton, that the President was a 'known lier and therefore unfit to hold office.'

Will Mr. Limbaugh hold Mr. Romney to the same standard?
Will you hold Obama to the same standard? Apparently its ok for Him.

Chrysler currently builds all Jeep SUV models at plants in Michigan, Illinois and Ohio. Manley referred to adding Jeep production sites rather than shifting output from North America to China.

Fiat Says Jeep Output May Return to China as Demand Rises - Bloomberg

Let’s set the record straight: Jeep has no intention of shifting production of its Jeep models out of North America to China. It’s simply reviewing the opportunities to return Jeep output to China for the world’s largest auto market. U.S. Jeep assembly lines will continue to stay in operation. A careful and unbiased reading of the Bloomberg take would have saved unnecessary fantasies and extravagant comments.

But you could see the confusion since he does say something about putting the entire portfolio over there as a possibility. I don't know if it is just a bad choice of words or whether he is spilling some beans that the higher ups don't want spilled and now they are backpedaling as fast as they can.

What Is an American Car?

It was 30 years ago next week that Honda started building cars in the U.S. The 1983 Accord was the first to come off the automakers Ohio line. Toyota and Nissan soon followed Honda to American shores, not only for assembly of cars, but eventually for the design and engineering of cars as well.

Chrysler CEO to employees: Jeep will remain in U.S. - Toledo Blade

Quote:
Chrysler chief executive Sergio Marchionne circulated an e-mail to Chrysler Group LLC employees today strongly restating the automaker's promise that it will not move existing U.S. production of Jeeps to China.

In the e-mail, Mr. Marchionne said he felt obligated to again address the company's production plans over continuing "public debate."

I look forward to reading the stories promulgated by the like of Rowe and Hannity on November 5th
accusing the President of being responsible for:
The Black Plague,WWI and II,1929,Bad Breath,Muffintops,Chickenpox,Etc.,Etc.

'Wasn't President Obama "Baby Faced Nelson" in another re-incarnation?

When is Barrack going to show us his Nigerian Driver's License?

[Can D. Trump Prove he's graduated from grade school?]

Isn't Michelle actually a "HooDoo" Princess who controls the World through
her Hypnotic Subjugation of Barrack ?

What will we do when Hillary becomes the C. in C. and no one is left to

It's a font-off. We're competing to see who has the bigger font.

So is Chrysler talking out of both sides of their mouth? Maybe being careful not to say something that will sour Obama?

A tad odd that we would applaud BMW and Toyota building plants in the US to build their vehicles for the US market and then whine about Jeep building plants in China to build vehicles for the Chinese market.

What do you suppose 'localizing' means?

What's odd about that? Lets cut spending. Everyone says "Sure, everything but this one thing, aka my pet project."

Guess it means where it would be cheapest.
