There are a number of social issues; cannabis use and same sex marriage for example, about which the millennial generation simply doesn't give a shlt. They are non-issues. I think the hair-on-fire vocalizing against these kinds of issues is the last gasp of a generation that opposes them. They see the imminent and unavoidable changes coming about, know they are powerless to change the course and aren't the least bit happy about it.

The last time they were this vocal about pot was 80 years ago, but the situation was completely different. Their hysteria was effective in getting cannabis banned because the vast majority of Americans were clueless about it. It was easy to portray it (and cocaine) as the fuel driving crazy-eyed darkies who were out to prey on white women.

Now, with half or more of the adult American population admitting to having tried la mota at least once and the medical benefits of it being researched and revealed on an almost daily basis, these people can rant all they want. They're plsslng in the wind.

It is our culture here in the "Land of Opportunity" that the Individual is expected to take care of themselves when they have problems and that no one else is supposed to "Foot the Bill" for someone else.

At one time sending People to Jail used to work. But, that was when few People wanted to be Crimminals and some of the Crimminals had enough intelligence to change.
Neither is the case now.

NY news

Looks like Cuomo is getting on the bandwagon.

One of the things I find ironic is the fact that Feds are telling the banks there will be repercussions if they handle legal pot sales green paper but they don't seem to have any problem taking their slice. All the the pols will be jumping on it when they realize how much green paper it will generate for them.

There are two unpleasant side effects in Colorado. There is the pervasive smell of marijuana smoke wherever we walk in the city and any drive thru an area with industrial warehouses leads one to the conclusion that the city is overpopulated with skunks.

I guess the EPA will show up soon enough.

Note the pic showing O in line picking up his 1/4 ounce. I believe this is the biggest smile I've seen O have since being elected. Looks like the SS did a good job with his disguise too.

I'll bet it's not long before the anti cannabis crowd starts filing second hand pot smoke lawsuits.

Although I've never been one to put much stock in law suits, I don't want me or my family breathing the nasty stuff. I can see what would drive someone to such measures.

You guys are always talking about personal freedom. Would it not be a persons right to be free from this nasty stuff?

Seems to me like it would be, same as it is for tobacco smoke in most places.

What are the normal smoking regulations in your city? I don't think most of those laws specify tobacco smoke, or maybe they do. Maybe it's just the pungency factor.

City council initially passed a 'no smoking weed on the front porch' law and 'no weed smoke smell' ordinance but a week later rescinded it because they decided there would not be enough police/judicial resources to enforce them. I have some sympathy with Larry on this issue. I haven't noticed much cigarette smoke in our neighborhood but routinely encounter marijuana smoke. Maybe it's just because of the more pungent smell of weed smoke?
