In taking in some of the posts here today, Sunday, August 17th - I would remind some ppl that everyone is entitled to come and go from any employment or business venture. If it ain't workin' for guy, leave him free from criticism or the "if I were you do this" stuff. He wants to move on. Better to make moves when young than old. He has great experience and success running his own business for several years, which was entered into because it was his passion - cars. Passions in one's work are fungible. Just my .02.

I'm not a cheapskate, I'm a value shopper.

Yes, I enjoyed my freedom, I was offered good paying jobs many times because of my skills. But being self employed, if I wanted to stop in the middle of the day and go do something, I could, or if I saw a great deal on something, I always had the cash on hand to buy it. And I could make as much money as I wanted, depending on how hard I wanted to work. You take that job and you'll kiss your freedom goodbye. Sounds like your waning to take the easy way out. Young man, it looks like you've made your decision, you are just looking to us for affirmation. I personally think you should stick with the selling business, get your hands dirty do the repairs yourself and make a go of this thing. I get the feeling that you've never really had to work hard in your life. I may be wrong.

for me its all about budgeting and ive messed up more than once leaving myself flat broke for weeks at a time, but for sales, he could spend all day trying to sell something and not have a deal at the end. every hour you put in is closer to producing ordered printing jobs. every hour i put in improves the physical property im trying to rent and makes my income more secure. but for him or any type of large product sale, 6 hours of dickering could result in a no sale and that time was wasted. some people love the art of the deal, so i was curious why he originally got into it. but if that spark is lost, better to cut loose and do something else.

Just had a straight faced offer of $11,000 on my perfect 2008 Yukon XL Denali with a retail book of $28,000. He only said after the test drive is, it feels ok, about right for the miles, then offered me $11,000.
The day before I had an offer of $3000 for my 66 Chrysler Imperial. Selling it has been such a miserable experience that I officially give up. Miserable hot day.

Truth is you probably paid too much for thst imperial. Its a cool old car but its not like its a popular or followed model.
I said in your thread about that car, i had a similar cool old classic, value was about 2k. Ultimately sold it for 1500 bucks. What are you trying to get out of it for price?

I bought it because I love the car. I'm selling it because I'm trying to get rid of anything frivilous to pay down the debt I've accumulated. Other than a mortgage, I've never had debt before. Just didn't expect my business to flip like a light switch. Thankfully I still chose to live well below my "percieved" means. I also picked up an old Prius a month ago and sold off my Suburban. The prius was $3000 cheaper and saves me about $300 a month in gasoline. I refuse to wash the ugly thing. The transmission blew up in the 300SDL. I'm fixing it and selling.
