I would say nice spin but that would be misspelling "knee jerk."
Being enslaved is of course an unusual situation. I was referring to more of what we have going on right now. My take is that life is full of challenges. We humans can be beautiful, artistic souls, we can also be thuggish creeps, rapists, murderers. I like my man Lao Tzu's words: "The intelligent man responds intelligently even to unintelligent treatment." There are examples of people, born into slavery, who lived outstanding lives nonetheless and made great contributions to the world. Read a biography of Geo. Washington Carver.

the majority of the world's governments are far more concerned and worried that someone has or is pursuing the proper "paperwork" to become a "citizen", than bothering to find out if the newcomer is looking to become an electrician, plumber, mechanic, nurse or doctor and has the aptitude for such job skils.
As a result, dead head do nothings who have mastered the government paperwork maze set up shop in your local trailer park while those inclined to better their lives by becoming electricians, plumbers, mechanics, nurses or doctors are told to go back where they came from. I have yet to hear ANY child when asked what they want to be when they grow up respond: "I want to cross into other countries and apply for asylum/citizenship". |

racism may or may not be political in nature. I have followed the actions regarding race and the U.S. government for quite some time.
Every government brings in an idea I like to call "today's whippin' post" AKA "which race or religion are we going after today?". During World War II, Roosevelt rounded up all the Japanese Americans and put them in INTERNMENT CAMPS for the duration of the war. When recently interviewed, one of the camp survivors shared what life was like in the internment camps. Every morning, they were FORCED to say the pledge of allegiance. He said he will never forget saying the words, "FOR LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL" as he and the rest of the camp stared at a tall BARB WIRED SECURITY FENCE keeping them in their place. Hilarious. Back when 9/11 happened, Muslims were the whippin' post. Today, it is Latinos. WHO IS NEXT???? |

So it's no stretch to me to consider that tribal conflict and killing stretches back in the human species all the way to the common ancestor phase.

The placental mammals that survived the asteroid that killed off the dinosaurs were not dissimilar to rats for a long time. Mammals much like those still exist even though elephants, giraffes, and primates/humans have evolved. Why did that happen? Beats the hell out of me. Random chance, I rectum. And are you seriously suggesting that chimps are tribal and humans are not? Dude, dude step away from the stupid juice. Somewhere along the line you missed out on a study of the human race. For tribal rivalry, I offer up these examples, exhibits A, B, and C. The African slave trade. It was a simple matter for many Euros to be OK with enslaving blacks. I mean, come on, they were a different tribe, and clearly inferior to whites, or so many believed. Barbary pirates and Arabs in general. The Barbary pirates captured and enslaved many Europeans and quite a few black Africans as well. Why do you think it was that they had no trouble with abusing peoples of a clearly different tribe? I understand some Arabs still take black African slaves. The behavior of the Janjaweed has a strong tribal component. I think Janjaweed translates approximately as "dicks and ass holes riding horses or camels." Their treatment of small villages of black people in Darfur is nothing short of horrific. Other Arabs and Muslims are at pronounced cultural odds with Europeans. I think one might say they are of a different tribe The behavior of Japanese people in the first half of the 20th century. It's thought that Japanese are something like 80 to 90% genetically similar to Koreans, the other smaller percentage from the indigenous Jomon. While the Koreans have a strong genetic connection to the Han Chinese. Japanese culture obviously borrowed heavily from Chinese, the Kanji characters in the Japanese alphabet are straight from China. The other two Japanese alphabets, hiragana and katakana, were developed in Japan but derived from kanji. The Japanese demonstrated their brotherly gratitude to Koreans and Chinese by abusing the holy hell out of them in the years up to and including World War II. Genetic similarities? Who gives AF! They were a different tribe. They had stuff the Japanese wanted. And Chinese necks served as excellent tests for the sharpness of Japanese swords.

Inevitable? This is what comes from your constant moralizing. I'm trying to understand the urges, the tendencies that many people exhibit. I'm not saying it's right or it's wrong. Your knee-jerk response is to sit in the seat of judgment, and declare this or that self-styled enemy is evil.
All fall short of the glory of God. Rooting out evil is difficult. Amazing how often you think you've made progress and then at the worst possible moment the Three Stooges pop out. Not just goofy but creepy at times. It's scary. Beating yourself up for being a perpetual motion ass hole rarely does any good. Imagining that you are a paragon of goodness absolutely does not. Pop quiz time: who said "know thyself."
