Shop around. My Spree was under $400. The problem with Vespas is that they are over 50cc. You need to get an L or M liscense then and need to pay more for insurance. In some states, if it is under 50cc, you don't need to pay ANY insurance

You could always buy 2 Metropolitans and strip off the plastics and paint the frame leaving you with pretty much a Ruckus. Or buy the Ruckus, they look cool, for scooters that is.

I got a 1985 Jawa 50cc 2 speed auto. I got it for $150, plus another $150 for all new clutches. Took it up to my cottage this summer, never had so much fun on it
