In agreement with the thread starter- Deschutes Brewery, has some awesome brews, and extremely miss some of the other local "fresh" pounders that were readily available while living in the Northwest. A Pyramid Appy would be especially welcome today! Unfortunately must settle for the more available and somewhat boring unleaded Coors.

I like most beers, i.e. Fosters, Asahi, Kirin, Heineken ... coz I rarely have a hangover with them.

Now, I've started brewing on my own ... Coopers (Australian). Not much of choice in Malaysia, but the brews good ...

I'll second your choice of MacTarnahan's Ale & Bridgeport IPA .. both excellent.

Oh, and I forgot to mention Marston's Pedigree and London Pride ... and Guiness Export 7.9% - bottled only, apparently they use a very unusual set of yeasts. Tastes like very stong Guiness with sherry notes.

What about a REAL MAN's drink, then ... WHISKEY.

My vote here is for The Macallan.

I forgot to mention my two favorite beers for when I visit London -- Fuller's ESB and Fuller's London Pride. They run a nice operation in the Chiswick area -- I walk over to the brewery after getting off the Tube in Hammersmith.

Fuller's has a pub on the Thames in Hammersmith, it's called the Dove. It's my favorite pub in the entire world.

My idea of heaven is to enjoy a nice Fuller's beer, out back on the deck of the Dove, looking out over the Thames, on a crisp but sunny Spring or Fall day.

Cheers,
Gerry

Heineken.

It's an easy-to-drink-beer.

Not too bitter.

Not too lite.

Delicious.

Tommy Knockers Maple Nut Brown Ale is my favorite. Absolutely amazing. http://www.tommyknocker.com/

Fat Tire is also pretty darn good. The guys out in the North West and Colorado have all the luck. The best beers in the world are in Oregon and Colorado. Oh, but the women that is another story. Colorado is not the best place for good looking women. I drank an awfully lot of beer when I lived in Breckenridge, CO.

I am a fan of cheap beers, and nicer, microbrewed stuff as well.

For a cheapie, I always turn to Miller. It is smooth and sweet, very fresh, and not "tinny" or bitter like Fosters or Heineken. When I buy a 12pack for me and a group of friends, it is usually miller.

As for more complex beers, I am a HUGE fan of Fat Tire Amber Ale by New Belgium Brewing of Colorado. This beer is very smooth, fruity, and suprisingly fresh for an amber. I recommend it to everyone.

I also like India Pale Ale by Lagunitas and Lava Lager of New Zealand.

I recommend everyone try a Fat Tire -- great stuff.

Being a college student that will be 21 tomorrow, I will have to say the favourite beer I can afford is Miller High Life Lite. This weekend we splurged though and I had a few McEwan's. Damn good beer, but not as good as my favourite, Anchor Steam
