Trunk will not close

Went shopping and loaded my trunk and now it wont close / the green trunk release light stays flashing and the trunk lock opens and closes but does not latch …..help please

So yesterday dropped off my other baby to my mechanic in San Antonio to replace the oil level sensor cable in the bottom of the oil pan....glad I finally got it done with no more...

Found 2 blown fuses along with two blown light bulbs at the license plate...the fuses were for the lic plate, instrument cluster and high beam left side.....
