Interesting proposal, though I'd need a turbo engine with the wagon/sls head. Yours are CD and SD engines right, no SLS pump on them?

It doesn't seem to consume any oil, and maintains both normal temperature and oil pressure during drive, even when flooring it for miles and miles.

Looking at a 1980 W123, seller says power steering only works clockwise but not counterclockwise. Is this an easy fix? Seems like a fluid valve stuck or something like that. A costly repair?

Might have found my answer; appears only 250, 280 and coupe models had wooden trim, others (200,230,200D,220D,240D) did not. Not sure about the 240D 3.0 though.
