Sorry to hear about this. I talked to him about a year ago I think he said he was in Idaho if I remember correctly. He sold me the rubber boot to my antenna on my C-230. It would have cost something like $150.00 from a dealer and I bought it for $5.00 (?) ( can't remember) anyway, nice guy, we had a good conversation. I'll definitely miss him.

An Unbelieveable Man

Dear Jennifer,

I am shocked, stunned and sadened to hear of your Dad's passing. He was funny, humorous, intelligent and compassionate.

I did alot of business with Phil over the years (about the last 5 with him). He was always upbeat and positive. He was in love with his family and his grandkids- he sent me a photo after the last one was born.

What a gift to have a father like Phil. He will be sorely missed by many people. God Bless Him and God Bless his family!

With great love and respect,

Carl S. Back

He was a great guy. His posts and emails always showed he was thoughtful, caring, and a cheerful person. He will be dearly missed by all.

Rest In Peice my friend

Phil was a terrific guidance for me as a new owner of a classic Mercedes-Benz
300-E Sportline. My prayers and sympathy go our to his son and his new wife.

He will be miss by many especially me. He was always patience with me and directed me to help solve my problems, I never meet Phil , but from what I read about him, I would of considered him a family member and a substitute dad. I lost my parents when they were very young. I really never got to know my father so con consider your self lucky to have had this man around you for so long.

mortality can can not be measured by how long we live , "but what we give back to other and how how we live life to its fullest". George Bernard Shaw once said and I think it fitting about Phil{ There are something in life which cannot be learned quickly, and time which is all we have , must be paid heavily for their acquiring. they are the very simplest of things and because
it take a person's live to know them the little new that a person gets from life is very costly and the only heritage they have to leave}
Rest In peace my friend.

Phil was a problem solver.

Phil was a problem solver. Something went wrong with your order - Phil was right on it and solved it. Gave a guy Peace of Mind knowing that his parts would arrive pronto. Sometimes, I felt like my parts arrived before I hung up the phone.

We need more like him.
Rest in Peace Phil.

Hello

Hello,

The other day I saw notice Phil had passed. I was too upset to read the notice Wayne sent out from Pelican. Today I ventured and felt horrible but I feel better after reading all the good stuff about Phil and how much he was loved.

Jennifer please feel better knowing you had a wonderful Father, I persoally never knew mind, and he had so many friends he never meti in person. Yes he never met a Stranger.

I use to tell my Wife that don't worry Phil is getting what I need. I wish Phil could read how much he is missed maybe he is.

I have gladly made a contribution if you are still short let us all know we can dig deeper. I'm honored we all can assist you in your time of need.

I Know Roy loved you Father and give Roy my sympathies and thank Roy for making it easy for use to help using PayPal and Chip-in site.

Good Speed Phil Reinhardt.

This is so sad. Phil's friends and family are in our prayers. My experiences with him over the phone left me with the impression that we was a kind person, eager to help and do the right.

Condolences to the family.

Life is cuel

Phil----Gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????

I just logged in after my own health crisis became somewhat resolved , to find a very large empty space in my heart from the news.

Phil and I had become commiscerating brothers over several years. Similar values, experiences, family situations. My son now lives in Boise and works in Nampa, ID where he was. Jennifer lives (lived) near me in Sioux Falls. We were just about to engage in carparts sharing. Feels like a big fat comfortable rug has been pulled out from under my feet.

Oh, how I'll miss the brotherhood and nodding understanding of a lot of things.

I will move on. His family, however, by noting the feelings expressed in this string of posts, will have a much larger wound to heal. But, great personalities leave behind a large body of love and memory as a healing balm. A quick thought of how he may have viewed things and how he may have wished we remember him will unfailingly bring a soothing smile and one will conclude that all is well with God and Phil. And so may it be with us.

Jennifer, if you are still in Sioux Falls and wish, drop me a line. A grandpa can buy a cup of coffee for one of Phil's daughters.

Wow, such a sad surprise to hear about Phil! My prayers are with you, Jennifer, and with all Phil's family and Roy.

I can't add much but I'll say that Phil was the best part of working on my cars. A complete pleasure to talk with.

You should have left the donations page up longer, some of us don't visit here much anymore. Make it a scholarship page. I know I'd be obliged to contribute some small fraction of the $ Phil saved me over the years!

I decided to check here and was moved by the kind words from all of you. I cannot for a second express what an amazing man my dad was. The man who cared so much about your parts was the man I watched my whole life live and love people in that very way. Every ridiculous worry I had or dumb thing I came to him with he greeted with concern, love and like you all have noticed, made my problems his problems. I have to say he cared so much about all of you. I used to laugh at him as he went on and on about all the wonderful people he got to talk to on a daily basis and got so much joy out of helping others. My grandfather used to say my dad "never met a stranger". That was a statement I never understood as a kid but now know is true. He was so geniune, so loving and so wonderful. What you saw is what you got, nothing fake. He was exactly the same way at home as he was on that phone with his customers. I can't even breathe to picture a world without him in it. He was my confidant, my rock, who I turned to when I hurt. I am hurting now and he is gone. Everyone would always say "Phil would give you the shirt off his back" and one day he actually did, I kid you not. I watched him take his shirt off and give it to someone who didn't have one and it was cold. Thank you, all of you truly for your kind words. I needed to see that others loved him as much as he loved you all.
So Sorry for your loss, I spoke with Phil many times..A Great Man!! God Bless..REST in PEACE.. Sincerly Ed Alberini

Phil's Passing

I too want to echo the sentiments of all the others that have posted on the passing of the Wonderful man. I befriended Phil many years ago and come to know him as part of my extended family. I cordially referred to him as "Uncle Phil" when ever I spoke to him to order parts. He will most certainly be sorely missed

Yes, that was Phil. It's a big loss for all of us over hear. Phil was always very cheerful, never complained, and was very excited about the upcoming year, his upcoming marriage, the launch of the new MB catalog, and moving back to California. He was just remarking to Trinidad the other day about how happy he was to be working with us at Pelican, and how excited he was about the future.
