Truly sad news - a good man and always willing to go the extra step to help anyone. Thank you for everything Phil. May you rest in peace.

Yes, that was Phil. It's a big loss for all of us over hear. Phil was always very cheerful, never complained, and was very excited about the upcoming year, his upcoming marriage, the launch of the new MB catalog, and moving back to California. He was just remarking to Trinidad the other day about how happy he was to be working with us at Pelican, and how excited he was about the future.

This is really sad news. My condolences to his family. I have only been in contact with Phil for the last year or so, but I think I have had over a 75 email exchanged and countless phone calls for many different parts. Having an oddball car, he always put me at ease finding the proper parts when most places do not want to spend the time taking the extra step. There were even times where the parts were no longer available and he gave me leads on junkyard that could be willing to help. He was an incredible asset to the customer and He will certainly be missed.

During my first conversation with Phil I was ordering parts for my new to me '85 300D, I kept calling him Roy. For some reason I confused him with Whunter. He never corrected me, acted like nothing was wrong.

I sent him one more email starting it with Roy, and he responded like nothing was wrong until his signature.

Phil

He also sent me a few leads when someone was looking for a diesel Mercedes. Never resulted in a sale but just the thought of helping me out was more than enough. Really nice guy like everyone is saying.

My condolences to the family.

Oh Phil We lost someone great... I've talked with Phil Quite a lot. Ordered a few parts through him, What a spectacular person he was, he listened and offered his help and went above and beyond to make sure that you got the right thing, and offered help on what other problems could cause symptoms I am quite sad to hear of his passing, My thoughts are with His family and friends

Phil's family (I hope to include US in that list) is greatly and deeply saddened by this sudden loss. I've been in a funk about it since I heard. kinda hard to think about it. Pelican has REALLY lost the best asset to the parts sales team possible.
All my deepest sympathy goes out to his daughter and fiance.

since the first time I called him for something with one of my cars, he's been RIGHT THERE! if for some reason a message had to be left, it was always with a confidence he'd call back, knowing exactly what you needed, and who you were. that "room full of parts with the bare bulb hanging above his head" is EXACTLY how I always pictured his office when talking to him on the phone. as if WE were always in arms reach of him when we called.

Big Shoes.

extremely hard to fill...

always missed.

always.

He always was genuine and helpful with me.

I only spoke to him on the phone a handful of times but each time felt he was dedicating all his resources to my order.

Thoughts and prayers to the family.
