Hi all,

My fiancees 87 16v has an attitude when its cold. Appears to run very rich (visible black smoke) at an rpm less than 400. If I disconnect the throttle position sensor, it runs normal. If I leave that connected and hold the rpm above 1200 it will clean up and run fine after a few seconds. After it warms up, runs fine. Any thoughts?

Thanks, Tinker

I checked the air flow sensor, coolant sensors and E.H.A., per the CD and all checked out ok. It runs much better with the air flow sensor plug disconnected when warming up. Can anyone steer me in the correct direction? Thanks
