Measuring ATF level with shop tool.
I purchased the shop tool (dipstick part # 140-589-15-21) used to measure the ATF level in the 5-speed electronic transmission on my 1999 S600. Of course it came without directions, so:
1. How far is the dipstick to be inserted in the tube? I assumed it is until touches the bottom of the pan, but maybe something else? 2. Do you measure the level hot or cold and with the engine running or off? Previous experience says hot and running, but I would like confirmation. Anyone have access to the MB instructions on how to use this tool? TIA |
