220D Clutch problem

Hello there,
I'm sure this topic has been covered before, but I still appear to have a problem.

The car is a '71 220D. Bought it three weeks ago with no functioning clutch hydraulics. Some fluid and gravity bleeding got it kinda working and revealed a really leaky slave cylinder.

So I replaced the slave cylinder, bled it with a power bleeder (connected to the brake reservoir) All seems ok, but when I hold my foot down on the clutch, it slowly engages as if I'm lifting my foot. So, I assume this is an internal leak in the master cylinder.

So I replaced the master cylinder last night, bleed it with the same power bleeder the same way and its just not right. Feels like lots of air, etc. So then I connected the pressure bleeder to the slave cylinder's bleed screw and reverse bleed it (at 10psi).

I pushed a good amount of fluid through (maybe 8oz) and it appears to be purged of air (no more bubbles). So now the pedal feels nice, and has a consistent feel through its entire travel. But, the problem is the same as after I replaced just the slave cylinder: If I hold the clutch, it slowly engages as if I lifted my foot.

Could this be caused by air I didn't get out yet? I did all the bleeding on an incline in my driveway, should this matter? Or is my new master cylinder faulty? Or a worse problem?

What should I do next?!

Thank you!
Jaime
