has anyone tried a cup holder from this retailer? (http://www.bhma.com/cgi-bin/bhma.storefront/3a5e426e044367ee274d401c4e47062f/Product/View/UFDH&2D1)

1) if so, how hard was the installation? would i have to remove the door panel?

2) if not, could you make a suggestion as to where i can get a good cup holder?

won

Same 1, it is not hard at all. I used Makita drill and bolted on. U can order directly from the manufacturer, but it is the same price as BHMA. Mine costed about $50 with shipping. If u go to the dealer, they have the same thing, but charge u twice as much. Saw it last year and wanted it, but at $100. That is way too much. It took about 2 mins to install. Positioning it is the hard part. Also, it may hinder when u want to open and close door, if cup is big and in holder. I don't have the URL, but i think it was http://www.drinkholder.com They also have one that fits 2 drinks underneath the arm rester in that console, but u can get the same thing at any Japanese car mod store, but not same color as interior, for about 1/3 price. I didn't want that, b/c I use that space to hold misc. junk. Look at the pics closely and see if u want this or not, but it works well 4 me.

thanks

if you are using a drill to just bolt it on, isn't there a possible danger of drilling through wires, etc? is there a specific place where it's "safe" to drill through?

Those ones for the door are fine. I've found BHMA to have very nice products, though the prices on some seems a bit outrageous. Too bad they really trimmed down their business. They used to have tons of great car stuff for many different cars, its seems that now they only really do building and sales of custom built suburbans, yukons and escalades, and sell newer mercedes items. They seem to be slowly getting rid of all the interior stuff and other items for the older cars.

you can also try http://www.mother.com/capitolwest

they have a center console cup holder.

WOW, I Got The Same One...

Wyoo,

The guy who sold me my car installed one of these (they all seem to be the same) on the front driver's side door panel. The upside is that is was a real good match to the existing interior. The downside is that I hate it, and wish that he hadn't put it in. To me, it's just in the way, and if I do remove it, there are the three screw holes left in my door panel...(yes, I know there are four holes, but following the directions, he only used three screws.)

BTW, he told me he bought it from the local MB dealer, and paid about $40 for it.

Remember kids, don't drink and drive. But, if you must drive, do so responsibly

Drink Holders

I checked out the web address listed on Wyoo post and it looks exactly like the one's sold at Wal-Mart for $4.99. Look either in the Auto or the Marine/Fishing sections. I have two installed in my 300D and used self adhesive Velcro to attach, no screws needed.

The bolts are short and come with the cupholder. If you are afraid, then you can take apart the door panel, but I wouldn't bother and I don't think the dealer would either.
