190D Rear main seal R and R...tricks???

My "new" 87 190D 2.5 Auto has a leaking rear main seal, gonna wrestle it out this week and could use a pointer or two. Anyone have any??? A few thoughts 1) What sealant to use on the seal housing? 2) How to access the upper bellhousing bolts?? 3) What else to replace while its out? 4) Just how far off the ground do I need to get this thing out? Anyone? Anyone? Thanks! Clip BTW Maybe a good time to install a 5 speed????
