Thanks I am glad I checked with the forum! I did get new nuts just after I posted. Will do the job today.

For W202 Alldata is specifying 140 Nm (104 ft-lbs) for lower ball joint nut on steering knuckle and 100 Nm (74 ft-lbs) for lower ball joint nut on wishbone. The 104 ft-lbs seemed pretty high. The Alldata torque information for the joint replacement procedure appears to be incorrect. The joint torque value given
with the Alldata lower control arm replacement proceedure is 105 Nm (77.5 ft-lbs) for both ball joint nuts.
