suspension noise on C230
I am getting a sound which almost sounds like `weep` when what seems like my right rear goes over bumps. Usually have to be traveling over 50mph for the bump in the road surface to get the noise.
Also on undulating back roads when the rear gets light on the crest of a hill I get the same noise.
Noise matches the bumps in successive intermittent `weeps` as I go over the bumps, but when rear gets light the `weep` noise is prolonged for the amount of time the suspension is light.
I switched tires front to rear, inspected diff, which gets Redline Synthetic every 30K, and the rubber CV boots for cracks which I treat with 303-Protectant whenever the car is on a lift.
Tires are one year old Michelin, and I just rotated them and sound is the same.
Car is 1998 C230, 77K miles, well maintained. easy on suburban and city streets, some fast interstate and back road driving once a month or about.
Is this a shock issue? I get no noise when I load up a particular corner of the car stationary and release to watch shock movement.
