w126 wont start
I changed the water pump, and i had to remove the balancer. I placed back the balancer but its not reading '0' all i did was place the balancer make sure it was secured then bolted it back on --then i removed the front right spark plug i tried to poke a 6 inch plastic in there see if the piston was there or something or if the stick would dip in but it didnt dip in much so i took it as the piston was 'up' so then i check where that ignition wire for that spark plug when and aling the rotor straigh to it--it wasent off much at all probably like 1/5 of an inch. Then i try to start the car and i get no luck.....any ideas ?? did i check the whole piston thing wrong ? if so how do i do it ?! thanks for you advice!! btw this is for a 1980 500SE v8 mercedes benz!! greymarket!!
Thanks a bunch |

how far was the marks off from TDC? Either your pump has the alignment peg in the wrong place, the crankshaft was rotated slightly, or (iff off more than 50-60 degrees) you have the balancer out of alignment (one hole is offset, so usually you will find that you have one bolt left over, because only 5 would screw in instead of 6).
